Usually this happens every six months or so and, while it's going on, the computer will pause for a couple of seconds anywhere from every minute to every ten minutes.
The only way I've found to fix this is to format my HD and reinstall windows which I have done over the past year and a half about 3 times. I really don't want to keep doing this. Sign in to vote. We use a product that is on the windows Compatibility list. The product is Monarch Pro When we run the program it freezes the application completely or it just hangs or pauses for the longest time.
If you look in task manager it will be listed as Not Responding. What is interesting is if we run it in Safe mode the program works great. I have talked to their support staff and they have given up saying it is our setup. I have 2 computers and one laptop all doing the same thing. They also mentioned it may be the video driver or the fact that all 3 are dell machines.
I called Dell and they said they don't support third party product. I have tried running a clean boot. I have also shut down just about every service and it still hangs. So far the only thing that works is safe mode. Thursday, January 28, PM. Hi There are basically 2 levels of compatibility testing for Windows 7. It is then placed on the product compatibility list. The second level is the Windows 7 Logo compatibility program. When a product is allowed to display t he "Compatible - Windows 7 Logo" means this product met Microsoft testing requirements for compatibility with bit and bit Windows 7.
To earn the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo, software and hardware must pass Microsoft designed installation, performance, reliability, and security tests so you can be sure these products are compatible with Windows 7. In this case, Datawatch certified Monarch Pro I did a bit of research and found at least one other thread on the Monarch Pro forums where another user was experiencing the same freezing issue.
Monarch v10 freezes on Windows 7. However the user was not able to resolve the problem and resorted to using the XPMode virtual add-on which fixed the problem in his case. I noticed that you also posted that you were successfully using XPMode, last month in this thread, Windows 7 64 bit Monarch Has this changed? Let us know. Saturday, January 30, AM. I have deleted all drivers and printers from the spool folder.
Fixed nothing. I even copied over new drivers and printers to the folder, and that solved nothing. I used the Microsoft website and tried running the FixThis program, fixed nothing. I added it to the Data Execution Exceptions Tab, solved nothing. I could really use some help with this one Any suggestions are welcome. Joined Jul 29, Messages 21, Have you deleted the actual spool files that may be lingering or corrupt? Yes, I have done that. There is nothing in that folder. The service, however, still refuses to stay running and crashes when I attempt to reinstall printers.
Delete all printers from the printer folder. There may well be a printer listed that is not showing up because the print spooler is stopped. Ok, I attempted that, and it was unsuccessful due to the fact that I couldn't reach that location. There was a corrupted registry entry for print provider. I deleted it, opened printers and faxes, and all the printers magically populated themselves into the folder.
It was quite a sight to see. I sincerely hope this helps whoever else has this same issue Joined May 26, Messages 2.
