Coldfusion template requests

Ah, I've been burned by the rogue Application. So frustrating. One time, I actually wrote a whole blog post about an issue I was having, cause I thought it was a bug; then, right before I posted it, the thought popped into my mind that I might have an App. Turned out, I didn't have one in my testing directory I've had to jerry-rig by having the Calling page send a variable which is the Request-scope variable I want to maintain all the way through the AJAX call and back.

I really hate that I've yet to comprehend why the scope variables disappear on me. Light Dark. ScopeName :: No!!!!!! Ray, I just love scoping stuff : It's completely an emotional issue. Ray, Trust me, I see the insanity of it. I will work on getting a hold of myself :.

Don, I am not even sure how to test those : Any suggestions? Don, Thanks for testing that one for us : Looks pretty standard. I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic if you get the opportunity. My 2 cents. Dan, I agree with Ray on this matter. Robert May 18, at PM 22 Comments. Sorry, I had some trouble posting. Can you post the code that calls your CFC?

Thanks Kevin. Are you really calling the functions from another machine? That makes it way more complex! To put it into memory you would normally write someting in the Application. Robert, Kevin is right on. Robert May 19, at AM 22 Comments. Thanks again for the help and the education! Robert, No problem at all. Obviously, that is why the app scope was not available to it. The optimal value can only be determined through rigorous testing of your application while under simulated load.

Once the system is stressed, this value can be experimented with to find the sweet spot where the system is performing optimally. Learn more about performance tuning ColdFusion here. Similar to threads, the number of Flash Remoting requests that can also be tuned independently. Unless you are serving data to a Flash application, this setting can safely be ignored. The default setting is 5. The number of Web Service requests the system will process concurrently is set here.

If you are servicing such requests, this value should be determined through load testing of your application in an isolated environment.

This setting depends on the nature of your application. If your application meets these criteria, this setting should be tuned. Again, only through a structured load testing and tuning regimen can the optimal value be determined. The default setting is ColdFusion ships with extensive report generation capability, exposed through the cfreport tag. The creation of reports using this tag can be very resource intensive, depending on the size and scope of your reports.

In order to avoid cannibalizing all server resources during report generation, you may limit the number of threads available to that process. The maximum number of ColdFusion reports that can be processed concurrently will depend on the nature of your application s. John : I know you are running IIS 6. Jesse : Yes. John : Read this article and try again: Adobe website Jesse : What the heck. And why do i have to set this in some config file placed deep inside coldfusion.
